Sarah Livingstone
Sarah finished her nursing degree in 1994. She has worked at hospitals in both the public and private sector.
Most recently she has been a perioperative nurse specialising in Neurosurgery.
In 2015, Sarah was diagnosed with breast cancer, and went on to have a bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction. As a result of her treatment for breast cancer, Sarah went into early and sudden menopause. Having experienced menopausal vaginal symptoms, Sarah volunteered to participate in a trial involving the MonaLisa Touch laser treatment which she had heard might improve those symptoms. The trial was being conducted by the Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney.
Sarah found the results so dramatically improved her symptoms, that she wanted to bring this treatment to other women experiencing similar issues. She believes women going through perimenopause or menopause often talk about hot flashes and mood swings, but rarely talk about what’s “going on down stairs” and how that affects not only their personal physical comfort but also their relationships.
Menopause is difficult for anyone, but it’s Sarah’s desire to help women through the experience, and to feel better about themselves and their body.
